The 16 Days Activism against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) in Akwa Ibom State is a collaborative effort organized by USAID Nigeria through the State Accountability – Transparency and Effectiveness (State2State) Activity. This initiative aims to address the urgent issue of GBV in the region by promoting transparency, accountability, and effectiveness, with a particular focus on preventing violence and promoting gender equality.

The campaign, themed “Unite, Invest to Prevent Gender-Based Violence,” underscores the importance of collective action from various stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, community leaders, and individuals. The involvement of the Clement Isong Foundation adds expertise, community engagement, and resources to the initiative, aligning with the goal of creating a safer environment for women and girls in Akwa Ibom State.

The collaboration between USAID, State2State, the Clement Isong Foundation, CSOs, and MDAs highlights the significance of partnerships in tackling complex societal issues like GBV. By leveraging the strengths and resources of multiple stakeholders, this initiative aims to make a meaningful and sustainable impact in combating GBV in the region.
