2025 South-South Local Conference of Youth (LCOY Nigeria) Advances Climate Justice in Akwa Ibom
Activity Overview
The 2025 South-South Local Conference of Youth (LCOY Nigeria) was successfully held on Tuesday, 21st October 2025, bringing together young leaders, innovators, and policymakers committed to advancing climate justice and a just transition across the South-South region.
Organized by the Clement Isong Foundation in collaboration with ActionAid Nigeria, and in partnership with LCOY Nigeria, YOUNGO, and other youth-led organizations, the hybrid conference provided a vibrant platform for dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and solution-driven conversations on climate action.
Under the theme “Youth at the Forefront of Climate Justice: Accelerating Action for a Just Transition,” participants engaged in critical discussions on sustainable development, youth-led climate solutions, and inclusive transition pathways.
The conference reaffirmed the vital role of young people as not just future leaders, but active drivers of change, strengthening collective commitments toward a just, climate-resilient future for the South-South and beyond.
