The Clement Isong Foundation, on behalf of the family, warmly invites you to join us in celebrating the extraordinary life and legacy of our beloved matriarch, Late Obongawan Deaconess (Mrs.) Nne Clementine Isong (MON). She passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 21, 2024. Fondly remembered as “Nne Isong,” she was the devoted wife of the late Chief (Dr.) Clement Nyong Isong (CFR), who served as Governor of Cross River State (1979–1983) and was a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (1967–1975).
Nne Isong was an accomplished scholar with an M.Sc. in Nutritional Biochemistry from Howard University, an educator, and a distinguished civil servant who rose to the rank of Permanent Secretary in the Akwa Ibom State Civil Service. She was also the founder of Neson Schools, Uyo, where she nurtured young minds with her unwavering passion for education. Beyond her professional and personal achievements, she served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of Clement Isong Foundation, where her dedication, wisdom, and guidance were instrumental in furthering the organization’s mission.
