Strengthening Local Governance in Akwa Ibom

Overview of the 2-Day Policy Dialogue with Local Government Leaders in Akwa Ibom State

In our ongoing commitment to promoting inclusive governance and amplifying youth voices, the Clement Isong Foundation, in collaboration with the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Akwa Ibom Chapter, and with the support of ActionAid Nigeria, convened a 2-Day Dialogue with Local Government Leaders in Akwa Ibom State.

This high-level engagement brought together youth leaders, civil society actors, and local government officials to engage in meaningful conversations around strengthening youth inclusion, improving public service delivery, and accelerating grassroots development.

Through panel discussions, breakout sessions, and interactive exchanges, the event fostered mutual understanding and actionable commitments aimed at enhancing participatory governance at the local level.

The dialogue was not just a platform for advocacy, it was a space for collaboration, solution-building, and the co-creation of a governance framework that reflects the needs and aspirations of communities across Akwa Ibom State.

Together, we are setting a precedent for responsive leadership and civic inclusion.
