Report of A-Two Day Capacity Building Training for Young People on Freedom of Information Act and Social Audit in Akwa Ibom State

The Clement Isong Foundation (CIF), supported by ActionAid Nigeria (AAN) and funded by DANIDA and ActionAid Denmark, organized a two-day capacity building training on the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Social Audit for young people in Akwa Ibom State. The training aimed to empower youth with knowledge and tools to engage duty bearers in demanding climate justice and sustainable livelihoods. Participants, including Persons with Disabilities (PWD), were drawn from various sectors across the state. The training covered topics such as FOIA overview, social audit, and citizen engagement, and included group exercises and action plan development. Despite challenges with increased participation, the activity was successful due to the collaborative effort of CIF, support from government ministries, and active involvement of participants.
